For my Clarion sponsors: 3 new stories

The Clarion Write-a-Thon ends on Aug. 4. Where has the time gone? My goal was to write three short stories about White Heron, the master shaman from my book, ZERO TIME.

Well, that’s what “The Mother Serpent’s Daughter” is about, but “Jaguar Hope” turned out to be a prequel to ZERO TIME. Both are more than 6,000 words, so they are not-so-short stories or mini-novellas.

And the third story? I just started it, but it has nothing to do with anything I’ve ever written. The working title is “Moonblood,” and that’s all I’m saying for now.

The Write-a-Thon is raising money to help folks attend the six-week Clarion Workshop so they can learn from the masters how to write science fiction and fantasy. So far, Clarion’s raised more than $11,000 toward the $18,000 goal. To show my appreciation for your generosity, I’ll send those who sponsor me copies of these three stories (as soon as they are polished enough for release). Just be sure to donate publicly or so I can see your name, and send your email address to me at twfendley@gmail.com.

ps — In case you’re wondering about the really cool book covers for the e-release of the stories, those were done by my friend, author/illustrator Jennifer Stolzer. She also designed the Plumed Serpent on the top of this page.
