Hurricane Harvey Henna Party/Fund-Raiser
Saturday, September 23, 2017
10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
6714 Bonnie Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63123

Deborah Weltman will be painting temporary Henna “Tattoos”!!!!!

This is a do-it-yourself fund-raiser: you decide on your henna design…
you get henna-ed… you send in your donation to the organization of your choice.
Deb will NOT be collecting donation monies!

Henna tattoos cost from $5.00 to $25.00 depending on the intricacy of the design. There will be a design book available for you to choose your design. Henna “tattoos” look great on both women and men!

Please call: 314-544-2555 or email: terraartframe@sbcglobal.net to schedule your preferred time.

We will try not to keep folks waiting, but we will “Party” the whole time, so… waiting could be fun!

Vetted Organizations

Here’s a list of vetted organizations (via the New York Times) where you can give (immediately or after your henna) and know your money will get to those who need it.

The Front Lines:

  • Salvation Army
  • American Red Cross
  • United Way of Greater Houston

Specialties:

  • Texas Diaper Bank
  • Houston & Corpus Christi Foodbanks
  • LGBT Disaster Relief Fund
  • Houston Humane Society
Henna Information

The henna Deb uses is an all natural product made up of ground henna leaves (used in this fashion in India and the Middle East for centuries!) and essential oils, water, and lemon juice. She does NOT use BLACK HENNA, which is a chemical product known to cause skin reactions which can lead to scarring.

You should NOT get a henna “tattoo” if:

  • If you are allergic to aspirin, mothballs, fava or other beans.
  • if you have G6PD… (Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency).
  • If you have compromised liver function.
  • If you have had shingles.

Don’t let your child get a henna “tattoo” if:

  • If they are under six years of age, some folks say under eight.
  • If they have hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice).
  • If they have a condition known as G6PD (see above).

If you are concerned to see if you might have a bad reaction to henna, feel free to drop by and we’ll put a spot of henna on you to test for an adverse reaction. Then you’ll know for future.

Happy Henna to you all!!!

Deborah
